The market seems generally busy at this time and hopefully some sort of recovery has begun. Interest rates are great and inflation is non existant at the moment. Through the first quarter the housing market was off by 40% in number of transactions. While values didn't fall too far in the short term if the market stays that way for a long period of time prices will begin to tumble. From the end of March through the middle of May the market improved to leave us at about 38% off for the year.
It is a great time for people with equity to make a move. While you may not sell quite as high as you could have last year you will buy a little cheaper than last year and you've got better interest rates so that you can walk away with a better deal and should see a little appreciation coming again soon.
